3. The project I felt was my least successful was the landscape final. The medium used was watercolor. The watercolor does not look very smooth; it looks very rough. If I redid this project I would work on blending everything more to create a smoother landscape. I also think the greens I used were too similar so my painting is unexciting. I would add a larger variety of colors if I were to do this piece again. Or maybe I would choose a different landscape to paint. I would also do more details in the trees so they looked better.
4. Two pieces that I think show my growth as an artist are my landscape and pet portrait. These paintings were both done in oil. I think doing these projects helped me become better with working with the medium. The landscape painting was the first project I did using oil paints. I became more comfortable working with oil because of this project. I learned that oil takes a long time to dry and you have to wait to blend more colors. This knowledge helped me with my next oil project; the pet portrait. For the pet portrait I mostly worked on white fur. I think I did so well on this project because of my previous experience with oil during the landscape final.
5. Two mini lessons I think were most beneficial for my learning are the oil fruits and the watercolor value chart. The watercolor value chart helped me prepare for my final watercolor landscape project. I hadn't really worked with watercolor before this class. I created different values of the same color using my practice from the value charts in my final. Painting the oil fruits was my first time working with oil. This mini project helped me prepare for my first oil paint project. I became more comfortable working with oil. This helped my final oil paintings turn out better.
7. My favorite medium to work with was acrylic paint. This medium is one of the easiest to use. Acrylic was main medium I used before this class. I had worked on many acrylic paintings in the past. I was comfortable working with it in class because of this. I enjoyed working on the acrylic project the most. I believe doing this project helped me become even better with working with acrylic. I used many different colors and even included sharpie in the spirals.
